Can I get pregnant during my period?
Yes, although it is uncommon, it is possible to get pregnant during your period. Sperm can live inside the female reproductive tract for up to five days. If you have a shorter cycle and ovulate soon after your period ends, fertilisation can occur. Using contraception consistently is the best way to prevent pregnancy if you are not trying to conceive.
